2020 has been a year when waves of anti-transgender bills were introduced in more than a dozen states across the US and in the US Senate. We witnessed lawmakers methodically target transgender youth through the introduction of discriminatory bills that ranged from denying trans students the ability to participate in team sports, to criminalizing youth access to trans-affirming medical care, and limiting the ability for trans people to obtain IDs that confirm their gender identity.
Join Equality Texas and PFLAG for a candid discussion about what LGBTQ+ youth are facing in the 2021 Texas legislative session. There are a lot of ways to make your voice heard, and voting is just the beginning. Learn what issues we’re expecting and how to get engaged in legislative advocacy from parents who have gone through the experience themselves. Featuring a special introduction from Congresswoman Veronica Escobar. Note: This event is in Mountain Time.
