ABOUT THE QUEER TEXAS CRISIS FUND

The Queer Texas Crisis Fund is a joint project by Texas Pride Impact Funds and Equality Texas. It was created to support organizations that are providing emergency relief to LGBTQ+ communities as a response to COVID-19 and/or are leading critical social justice work at the intersections of racial justice and LGBTQ+ identities.

FUNDING PRIORITIES

We are prioritizing organizations providing emergency relief to LGBTQ+ communities as a response to COVID-19 and/or organizations leading critical social justice work at the intersections of racial justice and LGBTQ+ identities because of the disproportionate impact COVID-19 and systemic racism has had on these communities.

Awards will support general program operations. To apply, organizations must complete a 4-question survey found here: [LINK]. We will distribute funding in September 2020.

ELIGIBILITY

We are prioritizing organizations who are:

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within Texas
  • Facing budget crises because of COVID-19 and need emergency bridge funding to continue their operations
  • Providing emergency relief to LGBTQ+ communities as a response to COVID-19 and/or organizations leading critical social justice work at the intersections of racial justice and LGBTQ+ identities
  • Working with Black, Latinx, transgender or nonbinary, people experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ+ adults/elders, people living with HIV/AIDS
  • Led by Black/brown and/or trans persons
