Capitol Club members provide Equality Texas and the Foundation with the ability to respond quickly and effectively on issues dealing with discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity/expression by making an annual commitment of $1,200 or more to either entity.
Equality Texas serves as the only nonpartisan statewide political advocacy organization lobbying the Texas Legislature for the elimination of discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. Equality Texas Foundation programs educate and empower Texans on equality issues.
During the 84th Texas Legislature, Equality Texas mounted an aggressive and nimble operation that helped defeat more than 20 blatantly discriminatory bills. As we prepare for the 85th Texas Legislature and continue to monitor municipal issues, Equality Texas requires the necessary resources to maintain a robust social media presence, fact-check arguments, and be the go-to source to the community on LGBT discrimination-related matters.
Equality Texas Foundation requires the resources to further programs that educate and empower Texans on equality issues. The Foundation conducts research and educates Texans about policies and their effect on Texans of all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions. The Foundation continues to coordinate efforts of LGBT and allied organizations across the state to achieve its goals and objectives.
